Hello.

My name is Amy.

I've loved painting for as long as I can remember. But it wasn't until my high school art teacher nominated me for the National Art Honor Society that I considered myself "good" at art (if that's even a thing).

I was born and raised in West Michigan, where sand dunes and lighthouses informed my artistic sense. I clung to soft colors and blurry edges.

After graduating college (go blue), I moved to Boston. The landscapes of New England shifted my perspective. Harsh mountains and deep green forests were folded into rotation.

I traveled a lot in my twenties. And loved it. Every new scene pushed me back to a canvas; trying to capture that fleeting feeling experienced when you set eyes on something entirely new for the first time.

In 2020, I set down roots in West Michigan with my husband and daughter. But my paintings continued to reflect my wanderlust. In the midst of a global pandemic, I escaped feeling claustrophobic through art.

I invite you to escape with me.
